University of Richmond

The Biological Imaging Lab is a state-of-the-art microscopy facility located on the ground floor of the Gottwald Center for the Sciences. Home to three advanced microscopes (laser scanning confocal, scanning electron and transmission electron) and modern preparation tools, this facility allows student and faculty researchers to capture images of the highest quality. Students in particular are encouraged to work in the lab to gain first-hand experience with microscopy techniques that are not often available at the undergraduate level.

Students from each of the science disciplines have made use of the Biological Imaging Lab through summer research support available in the School of Arts & Sciences. In addition, several courses in Biology are making use of the facility.
